Joint application closes, 15:00 Finnish timeHard deadlineDetails
The national window, on Studyinfo.fi, closing at 15:00 Finnish time on 21 January. Six months before IB results, so you apply on predicted grades. Aalto, the University of Helsinki and LUT are not in it: each runs its own application (Aalto closes on 22 January, Helsinki's IB group on 23 March, LUT's rolling admission on 30 April). Åbo Akademi's bachelor's programmes are in the second joint application, in March.
One form, maximum six programme choices. Opens 7 January 2027 at 08:00 and closes 21 January 2027 at 15:00 Finnish time (UTC+2). Studyinfo's own record of the joint application ("Joint Application to Higher Education, Spring 2027", run by the Finnish National Agency for Education) gives exactly that, and Tampere, Metropolia, Jamk, Xamk, Study in Finland, Jyväskylä, Turku, Oulu and Arcada agree. Aalto is not part of it: its English-taught bachelor's programmes have their own application on Studyinfo, open 7 January 08:00 to 22 January 2027 15:00. Both dates are right; they are two different applications.

What it is
The programme focuses on sports coaching, sports management and event planning, with a strong emphasis on ice hockey coaching. You study athlete-centred coaching, coach development, sports administration and event organisation, and put it into practice by coaching youth teams in local clubs and assisting coaches on campus. Study plans are personalised with tutors, and a work placement in the third year takes place in an organisation of your choice. The campus at Vierumaki is Finland's largest sports education centre, and the programme works with the International Ice Hockey Federation and the Finnish Ice Hockey Association. Graduates go into coaching, club administration, event management and sports entrepreneurship.
What you need
- Joint application only: advance assignment (published 7 Jan) due with your application by 21 Jan 2027, 15:00; online entrance interview 22–25 March.
Requirements in full
Every IB applicant at Haaga-Helia
In the January joint application most places go on certificates, so your IB grades decide. Sports Coaching and blended International Business use entrance exams instead. You must also prove English.
How places are decided
- Advance assignment (20 points, 10 to pass) ranks you; the top 75 get an online interview (50 points). 35 of 70 points to pass; IB grades do not count.
The last cut-off
Last admitted in 2026: 45 points (entrance examination).
A past result, not a prediction.
