The national window, on Studyinfo.fi, closing at 15:00 Finnish time on 21 January. Six months before IB results, so you apply on predicted grades. Aalto, the University of Helsinki and LUT are not in it: each runs its own application (Aalto closes on 22 January, Helsinki's IB group on 23 March, LUT's rolling admission on 30 April). Åbo Akademi's bachelor's programmes are in the second joint application, in March.
One form, maximum six programme choices. Opens 7 January 2027 at 08:00 and closes 21 January 2027 at 15:00 Finnish time (UTC+2). Studyinfo's own record of the joint application ("Joint Application to Higher Education, Spring 2027", run by the Finnish National Agency for Education) gives exactly that, and Tampere, Metropolia, Jamk, Xamk, Study in Finland, Jyväskylä, Turku, Oulu and Arcada agree. Aalto is not part of it: its English-taught bachelor's programmes have their own application on Studyinfo, open 7 January 08:00 to 22 January 2027 15:00. Both dates are right; they are two different applications.

What it is
You learn to secure systems, analyse risks and prevent threats, alongside project management, communication, problem-solving and business administration. Teaching follows Laurea's Learning by Developing model, with hands-on projects, real development assignments, laboratory and simulation environments for testing vulnerabilities, and workshops with business experts; PwC and Microsoft appear among partners. The curriculum uses the competency frameworks that security professionals work with internationally, and you collaborate with students from other fields. Graduates work as information security specialists, threat analysts, systems developers, security coordinators or cybersecurity consultants, or continue to a master's.
What you need
- International UAS Exam, as listed on Studyinfo; 2027 criteria not yet published. Online studies only in 2027.
Requirements in full
Every IB applicant at Laurea
An IB Diploma makes you eligible. Studyinfo lists the International UAS Exam or Laurea's own exam for each programme; the full 2027 criteria are not yet published.
How places are decided
- 2026 criteria; 2027 not yet published. In 2026 Laurea chose Business IT students by the International UAS Exam, not on IB grades.
