What you need

  • Any IB EnglishDanish requirement: English B
  • Maths HL (AA or AI)Danish requirement: Mathematics A

And one of these:

  • Physics (SL or HL)+Chemistry (SL or HL) Danish requirement: Physics B + Chemistry C
  • Not open with IB: 2 Danish-only options Biotechnology A: The handbook publishes no equivalent for this subject.Geoscience A: The official handbook leaves the IB column blank for Geoscience A. IB Geography HL is not automatically accepted; you would normally need a Danish supplementary course. The options above are the way in. Danish requirement: Physics B + Biotechnology A / Geoscience A + Chemistry C
  • Quota 1: at least 31 IB points Danish requirement: an average of 7.0
Under 31? Quota 2Below this, your way in is quota 2: SDU's entrance test (uniTEST: study skills, not subject knowledge). Apply by 15 March, 12:00, and register for the test by 20 March; places go to the highest test scores.

  2. Uddannelses- og Forskningsstyrelsen (Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science) national agency

DP Course Results (formerly the IB Certificate) of at least 18 points, with at least grade 3 in all six subjects and at least three subjects at HL, are a qualifying examination in Denmark on the same terms as a two-year hf without overbygning: they give access to erhvervsakademi- and professionsbachelor programmes through quota 1 and quota 2, and to a university bachelor only after two successive raises of upper-secondary subject level, at least one to A level, taken as hf-enkeltfag. Course Results under 18 points, or containing any subject at grade 1 or 2, are not a qualifying examination at all. A full IB Diploma of 24 points or more gives access to every higher education programme in Denmark.
