What it is

The first two years are preclinical, with biology, biophysics, chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy, histology and physiology taught through lectures, laboratory practicals and seminars. Years three and four bring clinical introductions, microbiology, pathophysiology and summer practical training, and years four and five are clinical rotations in internal medicine, surgery, paediatrics and obstetrics and gynaecology in faculty hospitals. The last year is pre-graduation practice at clinics under experienced physicians. Graduates can practise, specialise, work in biomedical research or industry, or enter doctoral study.

What you need

  • Tests in biology, chemistry and physics (60% to pass), or no test with 35 IB points incl. 19 from HL Bio, HL Chem and Physics.
