The curriculum is organised around the five themes of the UN's sustainable development agenda (people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnership) and gives a grounding in the economic, political and cultural sides of global problems. Learning is practice-based, with case studies and policy-lab seminars, and a partnership with the United Nations System Staff College brings UN courses, practitioners, summer research programmes, mentoring and capstone projects. An exchange programme is part of the degree, and the first two years can be in Segovia. Graduates go into the UN and other multilateral bodies, diplomacy, consultancies, NGOs, think tanks, political parties and humanitarian work.
