What it is

You study financial markets, investment analysis, risk management and corporate finance, backed by quantitative methods and data analytics, and learn how firms are valued and capital is allocated sustainably. Courses lean on teamwork and cases, with guest lectures and company collaboration, and a closing course looks at the role of finance in society before the bachelor's thesis in year three. A flexible minor can come from technology, design or economics, or you can swap it for an exchange. The student association Aalto Finance runs events and trips to financial centres. Graduates become analysts, consultants and portfolio managers, and continue to the Aalto master's in finance.

  • Maths AA (SL or HL) or AI HLminimum 2 · Basic maths (AI SL) at grade 4 also counts.

Every IB applicant at Aalto

IB applicants go in admission round B, ranked on IB grades with national scoring tables. HL and SL score the same; engineering options need advanced maths at 6. No English test needed.
