What it is
The major joins quantum physics, mathematics, computer science and electrical engineering, covering quantum materials, circuits and information processing, plus programming, electromagnetic fields, machine learning and quantum laboratory experiments. Lectures, seminars, group and project work run alongside hands-on lab work, including experiments with the AaltoQ20 quantum computer. It is run jointly by the schools of Science and Electrical Engineering, with research ties to VTT and the EU Quantum Flagship. Graduates work as quantum computer engineers, chip designers, software developers and algorithm engineers, or continue to a master's in quantum technology, materials physics, electrical engineering or computer science.
