    HKU's key dates add "1 Dec 2026 — Input predicted and/or actual grades and submit supporting documents" for first-round applicants. HKU wants the results typed into its application system, not only uploaded, so ask your coordinator for predicted grades before this date.

    Well after IB results are published on 6 July 2027, so a late application is possible. HKU also warns non-local applicants to allow four to six weeks for assessment and eight to ten weeks for a visa after an offer, which is the real reason the August date is not as generous as it looks.

What it is

Six years to become a dentist, mostly in clinics and the dental teaching hospital in Hong Kong, with hands-on training in medical and surgical settings across the city. The degree is registrable with the Dental Council of Hong Kong.

What you need

  • IB Diplomaat least 41 points
  • Maths HL (AA or AI); or Biology or Chemistry HLminimum 6 · Two of these HL subjects at 6; Maths AA and AI count once
  • English A (SL or HL)minimum 5 · English B needs grade 6, at SL or HL

Set per programme: an expected IB total from 34 (most arts, science, engineering) to 43 (MBBS), plus subject grades; English A 5 or English B 6. Many programmes interview shortlisted applicants.
