What it is
The course explores how people relate to the built environment through interior and object design, sustainable and health-conscious solutions, CAD and 3D modelling, drawing, painting, form studies and design and art history. Year one introduces forms, spaces and materials through practical foundation work; year two focuses on interiors, furniture and architecture; year three centres on one large complex design project. Teaching relies on personal consultation, practical workshops with in-house prototyping and real-life internship placements. The specialisation is Interior and Spatial Design. Graduates work as interior designers, object designers, design consultants or independent artists.
What you need
- Portfolio with up to 20 drawings, up to 5 concept sketches or mock-ups and figure drawings, plus CV and motivation letter.

Every IB applicant at Budapest Metropolitan University
No IB points rule: finish secondary school with overall marks above 50%. English is judged in a compulsory online interview (IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 69 accepted, not required); art degrees need a portfolio.
