What it is
The degree centres on the care of animals and their welfare, looking at the individual animal as well as themes that run across species, alongside scientific research and the conservation of terrestrial and aquatic environments. Typical courses in such a degree include biology, anatomy and physiology, animal behaviour, nutrition and welfare. Learning is practical, with field visits to zoos, rehabilitation centres and research facilities and internships that can be done abroad. Graduates work in animal protection and monitoring and in coordinating care alongside veterinarians, biologists and zoologists, and the international outlook supports study for a master's outside Italy.
