Applicants need the full IB Diploma: predicted grades while at school, then the official IB transcript. Non-native speakers submit TOEFL, IELTS or a similar English test. No minimum IB score is published.

- First-year students on a new student visa must live in a TUJ dormitory, at ¥940,000 to ¥1,200,000 a year depending on the room.
- Admission is rolling and TUJ says you can apply up to three semesters ahead; the Diamond Scholarship needs an application by 15 October the year before entry.
