Biotechnological processes, molecular biology, genetic engineering, bioinformatics and bioprocess engineering to make bioproducts for industry.
Over eight semesters mathematics, physics, chemistry, cell biology and microbiology lead into molecular biology, genetic engineering, bioinformatics, instrumental analysis and bioprocess engineering, then enzymology, polymer chemistry, biotechnology equipment design and process optimisation. You experiment hands-on with micro-organisms, yeast, plant and algal cells in laboratories, take on a product development project, and finish with a professional internship and a bachelor thesis project. An Innovation Development or Pedagogy pathway is optional, and Erasmus+ exchanges include Wageningen and Padova. Graduates work as bioproduct production technologists, quality assurance specialists and innovation coordinators.
