    Not an official deadline. With a Dutch address you log in with DigiD, which the government says takes about five days. Without one you upload a scan or photo of your passport or EU identity card and Studielink verifies it automatically. Either way, do it well before 15 January.

What it is

You study security through political science, law, economics and history, using cases such as Syria, terrorism and counterterrorism, the Fukushima disaster, the SARS epidemic and the role of media, with attention to crisis management and governance. Teaching follows an Explore, Understand, Do approach, with lectures paired with skills labs in small groups, case studies that bring in current events, and academic and professional skills training. The programme is in The Hague, known as a city of peace, justice and security, and combines research with a practical orientation.

What you need

  • Full IB Diploma required (not certificates); send grade 11, November grade 12 and predicted grades. English-taught IB or English A HL waives the English test. Science programmes set HL subjects.
