    Not an official deadline. With a Dutch address you log in with DigiD, which the government says takes about five days. Without one you upload a scan or photo of your passport or EU identity card and Studielink verifies it automatically. Either way, do it well before 15 January.

Every date in the Netherlands

What it is

A common first year covers visual and material culture, European cultural history, the history of media, art, design and architecture, image and object analysis and research methods. In year two you choose Media, Art, Design or Architecture, with track courses such as film and media history, modern art, graphic design and fashion theory, or urbanism and landscape architecture, plus shared courses on exhibitions and urban culture, and an excursion abroad. Year three has five months of free study, a minor, research internship or semester abroad, followed by a research seminar and a bachelor thesis.

What you need

  • Full IB Diploma meets the entry rule. English: an English-taught or bilingual IB, or English A Lang & Lit SL 7/HL 6.

How places are decided

    • Everyone eligible is admitted
    No cap: meet the requirements and you are admitted. Apply in Studielink by 1 May and complete your VU application.
