What it is
You study politics, political philosophy, international organizations, nationalism, the Cold War, global power politics, global security and political economy, plus research methods, and choose electives on topics such as human rights, migration, energy security or the politics of regions like Asia, Africa and China. A compulsory internship places students at embassies, ministries, think tanks and NGOs, and the degree ends with a thesis. Clubs such as Model UN and Diplomacy sit alongside classes, and optional minors broaden the major. Graduates go into diplomacy, public service, research and humanitarian work.
