What it is
You study mathematics, physics, electrical engineering fundamentals, electronics and microelectronics, communication systems, power engineering and automation. Lectures are combined with laboratory work in which you operate measuring instruments yourself. Two tracks let you lean toward either electronics and communication technologies or power systems and automation. Graduates work as technicians in design and development, automation and energy specialists or in electronics manufacturing, and many continue to a master's in an electrical engineering field.

Every IB applicant at Brno University of Technology
BUT publishes no IB rule; its faculties ask foreign applicants to request an assessment of their diploma (about EUR 30). Czech law has accepted the IB Diploma without nostrification since March 2025.
How places are decided
- Entrance exam in Brno in late March after the January deadline. Your school certificate is due soon after applying; as an IB student, ask FEEC for an extension.
