What it is

The five years move from anatomy, biology, chemistry, physics and preclinical dentistry with laboratory practice, into clinical subjects such as oral surgery, restorative dentistry, prosthetics, orthodontics and periodontology, then advanced clinical work in all dental specialties alongside courses in medicine such as neurology and psychiatry. Teaching mixes lectures, seminars and extensive practical training, with professional internships from the fourth semester and a seven-week internship across dental fields in the last semester. A state exam ends the degree. Graduates practise independently, specialise, or go into academia, research or doctoral study.

What you need

  • Tests in biology, chemistry and physics, 65% to pass; no IB waiver for Dentistry.
