Deadlines

1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027*
Masaryk University, Faculty of Education - applications, September intakeHard deadlineDetails
The earliest of Masaryk's faculty windows to open, and the first Czech deadline of the cycle. Published as "Bachelor's programme: 1 October-31 March". Masaryk publishes this window with a day and a month but no year at all, and no academic-year heading anywhere on the page, so the year here is projected onto the September 2027 intake. Where the page's summary table and its per-faculty sections disagree, go by the faculty section, which gives the opening dates the table leaves out.

Masaryk University, Faculty of Social Studies - applications, September intakeHard deadlineDetails

Masaryk University, Faculty of Informatics - applications, September intakeMasaryk University, Faculty of Economics and Administration - applications, September intakeHard deadlineDetails
Published as "September intake: 15 December-30 April". A February intake also exists, closing 30 October - note that Informatics prints 30 October where Economics and Social Studies print 31, and the page repeats it, so it is not a one-line typo.

What it is
The degree combines language study, the literature and culture of English-speaking countries, and pedagogical training, with reflected teaching practice in primary schools for every student. Lectures and seminars are paired with hands-on practice, and the department tries to model good language teaching in its own classes. It is a single-subject degree with required, elective and selective courses. Graduates can work as teaching assistants, teach English at language schools or in community centres, and continue to the master's in lower secondary school English teacher training, which leads to full teaching certification.
What you need
- English B2 certificate (IELTS 5.5, TOEFL 72 or Duolingo 90), or a school letter that you were taught in English.
Requirements in full
Every IB applicant at Masaryk University

How places are decided
- A 10–15 minute online interview on your English and motivation to teach, scored out of 20; 12 needed. Up to 70 admitted. 2026 criteria; 2027 not yet published.
