What it is

The programme concentrates on processing mineral resources and on current European approaches to waste, with a circular economy and zero-waste outlook. You study mineralogy, chemistry, physics and instrumental analysis, and mechanical, chemical, physical-chemical, biotechnological and thermal processing technologies, plus information science and process visualisation. Teaching combines laboratory work for characterising raw materials and waste with practice in industry. Graduates work as waste managers, technologists, environmental specialists and researchers in industry, state administration, research institutions and municipal services.

What you need

  • Ranked on your penultimate-year school average (Czech-style marks) and an online English test, 21 of 50 to pass (B1); a B1 certificate is needed unless you studied in English.

Every IB applicant at VSB-TUO

VSB accepts a certified copy of the IB Diploma with no CZK 800 assessment fee. It asks for no IB points or subjects; each faculty ranks on its own test, or on a school average plus an English test.
