What it is
The first year lays foundations in biophysics, chemistry, genetics, mathematics, biostatistics, biochemistry, immunology and neurobiology; then come neuroanatomy, cellular neurophysiology, cognition, laboratory techniques and programming, and later neurological and psychiatric disease, neuroimaging, brain-machine interfaces and neuropharmacology. Laboratory work runs throughout, internships can be done at research institutes, hospitals and pharmaceutical or technology companies, and a bachelor thesis closes the degree. Electives let you lean toward computational neuroscience, neurodegeneration, pain or toxicology. Graduates work as research scientists and healthcare technicians, or continue to postgraduate study.
What you need
- IB via UNEDasiss: your IB becomes a grade out of 10, and two weighted subjects (IB grades on the credential or PCE tests) add up to 4. Prove B2 English during year 1.
