What it is

The first years cover algebra, calculus, programming, cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology and computer architecture, then databases, biostatistics, genetics and discrete mathematics, and finally machine learning, computational genomics, structural bioinformatics, phylogenomics and high-performance computing. Electives such as cancer genetics, pharmacology and cloud computing broaden the picture. Courses combine theory with lab work and data analysis projects, and a bachelor's thesis closes the degree. Four Catalan universities run it together, coordinated from the Barcelona School of Informatics. Graduates work in biomedicine, research, pharmacology, R&D, data analysis, AI and quality control, or in academia.

  • IB via UNEDasiss (grade 5–10), then Catalonia's pre-enrolment. Only PAU specific-phase or UNED PCE exams lift it towards 14; IB subject grades on the credential do not count.
