What it is
Year one covers economics, marketing, statistics, law, tourism geography and leisure marketing. Year two introduces hotel management, catering and gastronomy, attractions and destination management and health tourism, and year three adds travel agency management, international negotiation, languages and a personal portfolio project. Teaching is project-based, with professional competitions, workshops, hotel visits, seminars at cooperating hotels. You specialise in Health Tourism (thermal baths, medical spas, wellness) or International Hotel Management, with work placements through partners such as Accor, Danubius and Mellow Mood. Graduates become hotel and spa managers, tour operators, tourism consultants and event organisers.

- Online Maths test as part of the admission interview; the test is set on your overall school results.

Every IB applicant at Budapest Metropolitan University
No IB points rule: finish secondary school with overall marks above 50%. English is judged in a compulsory online interview (IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 69 accepted, not required); art degrees need a portfolio.
