Pécs adds the sentence that makes the opening date matter: "Since admission is continuous, the earlier you apply, the more spots we can offer." There is one intake a year. It is on the online-application page (https://admissions.medschool.pte.hu/application-form), as of 23 September 2026; the page on the same site titled "Deadlines & Requirements" publishes no deadline at all, so look for dates on the application page.

Published with its year: "Entrance exams are organized each Wednesday between 3rd March and 14th July 2027." The window runs weekly, not continuously - there are twenty Wednesdays in it and you sit one of them. Register two weeks in advance. Exams can be sat in Pécs, in Budapest at McDaniel College, or abroad through representative agencies, and there is a 250 USD (about €220 at the ECB rate of 24 September 2026) entrance exam fee on top of the application fee.

What it is
Pharmacy and biotechnology courses are combined from the start, so two qualifications, a Doctor of Pharmacy and a biotechnologist BSc, are earned in six years rather than eight. The foundation covers physics, general, inorganic, organic and analytical chemistry and biostatistics, followed by cell biology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics and bioinformatics, and then molecular biology, gene technology, pharmaceutical, medical and environmental biotechnology, quality assurance and data science. Training uses fully equipped student laboratories and research projects. Graduates move into pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, regulatory agencies, advanced research or doctoral study.
What you need
- IB Diploma exempts from the English test only in general; an oral entrance exam interview decides, and the Faculty tests your English as well.

Every IB applicant at University of Pécs
The full IB Diploma is required (single certificates are not accepted) and exempts from the English test, though Medical, Pharmacy, Health and Engineering applicants are still tested. No IB exemption from medical exams.
