University of Pécs · Hungary
Seven-semester practical mechanical engineering degree in English for the built environment and industry, with planning, industrial management and systems engineering modules.
1 November 2026
Published with its year: "the application period starts on 1st November 2026 and the application deadline is 30th June 2027 for the academic year 2027/2028 beginning from September 2027". Pécs adds the sentence that makes the opening date matter: "Since admission is continuous, the earlier you apply, the more spots we can offer." There is one intake a year. It is on the online-application page (https://admissions.medschool.pte.hu/application-form), as of 23 September 2026; the page on the same site titled "Deadlines & Requirements" publishes no deadline at all, so look for dates on the application page.

Published with its year: "the application deadline is 30th June 2027 for the academic year 2027/2028". It is on the online-application page, not on the page called "Deadlines & Requirements", which carries no dates at all. Because the entrance-exam window closes on 14 July and exams have to be arranged two weeks ahead, applying at the very end of June leaves almost no room to sit the exam, let alone re-sit it.
Source3 March to 14 July 2027
Published with its year: "Entrance exams are organized each Wednesday between 3rd March and 14th July 2027." The window runs weekly, not continuously - there are twenty Wednesdays in it and you sit one of them. Register two weeks in advance. Exams can be sat in Pécs, in Budapest at McDaniel College, or abroad through representative agencies, and there is a 250 USD (about €220 at the ECB rate of 24 September 2026) entrance exam fee on top of the application fee.

After most Hungarian deadlines. You apply on predicted grades and entrance exams, and upload the Diploma once you have it.

The course covers fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, strength of materials, machine elements, structural materials, machining, electrical and control engineering, welding, robotics and flexible manufacturing systems, within a systems view of mechanical, mechatronic and electronic aspects, plus planning and industrial management. Emphasis falls on simulation of engineering systems, numerical modelling, quality control, innovation techniques and polymer and additive technologies. Learning uses laboratory work, projects and field practice at one of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering's industrial partners, and the faculty's international contacts allow study abroad.
The full IB Diploma is required (single certificates are not accepted) and exempts from the English test, though Medical, Pharmacy, Health and Engineering applicants are still tested. No IB exemption from medical exams.
