What it is
The degree rests on four foundations: comparative legal systems, European law, the historical and philosophical bases of modern legal thought, and substantive and procedural law in both private and public areas, always viewed through comparative, European and international lenses. Its distinctive feature is a comparative, international and transnational approach to law, preparing you to work across legal contexts. Alongside law you improve your English and study a second European language, German, French, Spanish or Italian. You can apply for internships in international institutions. Graduates are prepared for roles needing knowledge of several legal systems, especially in international organisations and EU settings.
What you need
- UniTrento's own admission test (online in session 1, in person in Trento in session 2); minimum 11/60. English B2.

Every IB applicant at UniTN
A school diploma valid for university entry; a school letter saying your studies were taught in English proves the B2 English. Every English degree has capped places and an admission test.
How places are decided
- Ranked on the admission test; a high score also cuts first-year fees (90/100+ pays none). EU places: 50 in session 1, 25 in session 2. 2026 criteria.
