    Not an official deadline. With a Dutch address you log in with DigiD, which the government says takes about five days. Without one you upload a scan or photo of your passport or EU identity card and Studielink verifies it automatically. Either way, do it well before 15 January.

Every date in the Netherlands

What it is

The early years cover mathematics, optics, mechanics, thermodynamics, atomic and nuclear physics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, measurement technology and programming. Teaching mixes lectures with laboratory experiments in well-equipped facilities and projects such as building a working multimeter, and later assignments come from companies and research groups. You study on the Eindhoven University of Technology campus and can choose between a structured route and more freedom. Graduates work as physics researchers, product developers or process-optimisation consultants at employers such as TNO, ASML, Canon, DAF and Bosch or in hospital laboratories, and a master's is also possible.

Every IB applicant at Fontys

The IB Diploma is named as giving access. Many programmes also want satisfactory maths grades, engineering also physics or chemistry, with no IB grade set. An IB Diploma usually exempts you from an English test.
