    Not an official deadline. With a Dutch address you log in with DigiD, which the government says takes about five days. Without one you upload a scan or photo of your passport or EU identity card and Studielink verifies it automatically. Either way, do it well before 15 January.

What it is

You study mathematics, physics, mechanics, electronics, programming, vehicle design and simulation, and measurement and testing. Theory is tied to real vehicles: you move from small model cars in year one to building a complete low-energy vehicle by the end of year two, with lab measurements feeding back into class. Year three brings a 20-week internship and a minor, such as Motorsport Engineering, and year four takes real questions from industry in Helmond. Most graduates enter the automotive sector, with employers such as DAF and VDL, while others go into high-tech industries like semiconductors, or into a master's in System Design or a pre-master at TU/e.

The IB Diploma is named as giving access. Many programmes also want satisfactory maths grades, engineering also physics or chemistry, with no IB grade set. An IB Diploma usually exempts you from an English test.
