What it is
You combine chemistry, materials science and process engineering, from how molecules are built to scaling a process up to continuous production. Year one stresses mathematics and physics with inorganic, physical and bio-chemistry, and lab sessions right after lectures. Year two adds kinetics, polymer chemistry, separation technology and challenge-based projects on societal issues, and year three is an independent final project in a research group. From year two you pick electives, including themes such as AI, energy and sustainability, and take ethics-of-technology courses. Most students go on to a master's, and the degree is internationally accredited by the IChemE.

Requirements in full
Every IB applicant at Eindhoven University of Technology
Full IB Diploma with Maths AA HL for every bachelor's; engineering and design ones add Physics HL. An IB Diploma taught only in English, or English A HL at 5, covers English.
How places are decided
- Numerus fixus: apply by 15 Jan 2027. Ranked on an online cognitive test on 20 March (60%) and your grades (40%); the motivation questionnaire must be done on time.
