What it is
You combine mathematics, physics and chemistry with heat and flow, mechanics, dynamics, control theory and material properties, to design and improve mechanical products and production processes. Year one includes CAD and NX training for 3D design, year two adds thermodynamics and the control of mechanical systems, and about 30 percent of the curriculum is challenge-based projects tackled in groups. Year three offers electives and a Bachelor Final Project in a faculty research group, with past topics including humanoid robots and chip factory modelling. Graduates work in machine manufacturing, research institutes, start-ups and multinationals.

Requirements in full
Every IB applicant at Eindhoven University of Technology
Full IB Diploma with Maths AA HL for every bachelor's; engineering and design ones add Physics HL. An IB Diploma taught only in English, or English A HL at 5, covers English.
How places are decided
- Numerus fixus: apply by 15 Jan 2027. Ranked only on online tests on 13 March: maths 25%, physics 25%, a programme-content test 50%. Grades do not count.
