Not an official deadline. With a Dutch address you log in with DigiD, which the government says takes about five days. Without one you upload a scan or photo of your passport or EU identity card and Studielink verifies it automatically. Either way, do it well before 15 January.

What it is
The first phase covers a broad introduction: history of Europe, political thought, public policy and governance, international relations and law and politics, with attention to conflict, cooperation and power. In year two you choose one of five tracks: International Relations, Comparative Politics, Public Policy and Governance, Political Theory or Political Economy, and do a research project. Year three offers electives and a work placement, study abroad, minor or language study, and ends with an independent thesis. Placements have included the UN, EU embassies, think tanks and NGOs, and graduates go into policymaking, journalism and international organisations.
What you need
- Numerus fixus (345 English-track places): apply by 15 January; places go by unweighted lottery. Maths AA SL/HL or AI HL at 4 recommended.
