What it is

Over three years the curriculum combines basic sciences (anatomy, physiology, pathology, genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, radiology) with social sciences such as psychology, sociology, medical law, public health and nursing ethics. Nursing care itself is taught through health promotion, primary care, dietetics, physical examination and nursing research, then specialist areas including internal medicine, paediatrics, surgery, midwifery, psychiatry, anaesthesiology, geriatrics, palliative care and emergency medicine. Practical classes and professional placements are part of the course. Graduates can obtain a professional qualification certificate from the District Chamber of Nurses and Midwives in Poland.
