What it is

Across seven semesters you cover mathematics, physics, engineering analysis, materials science and metallurgy, manufacturing technologies such as machining, welding and heat treatment, CAD/CAE/CAM, machine construction, mechatronics, automation and robotics, electronics, fluid mechanics and hydraulics, and AI methods in control. Laboratories, project work and teamwork modelled on industrial problems are followed by a four-week internship in semester 6 and a diploma thesis, supported by close faculty ties with industry. A master's degree offers mechatronic constructions or automation and production systems supervision. Graduates work as design engineers, technologists, production engineers, quality and maintenance specialists and R&D engineers.
