What it is

The seven-semester course covers methods of designing devices, the properties and selection of construction materials, modern manufacturing technologies, and technical diagnostics and repair, with mechanical engineering design as the specialisation. Teaching combines laboratory work and projects and ends with a thesis project. Internships and industrial placements are offered with employers such as Bosch, Volkswagen, Toyota, Volvo, Collins Aerospace and KGHM, and around 160 student science circles run alongside. Graduates work as design engineers, process engineers, R&D engineers and operations and maintenance engineers in the vehicle, machinery and equipment sectors.
