What it is
The curriculum runs from morphology (clinical anatomy, histology with embryology) and the scientific basis of medicine (biophysics, molecular biology, biochemistry), through pre-clinical subjects such as genetics, microbiology, immunology and pharmacology, to behavioural sciences including medical psychology, communication and ethics, and then clinical specialties including paediatrics, surgery, obstetrics and oncology. Practical clinical classes begin in the fourth year, and a summer clerkship follows each year, amounting to 20 weeks. Graduates work in hospitals and public or private health care, medical universities and research institutes, public health bodies, or go on to residency via the Polish medical licensing exam, or a PhD.
What you need
- Biology HLIB 7 = 100 points. If missing, WUM's own Biology exam (pass at 30%) can stand in.
- Chemistry HLIB 7 = 100 points. If missing, WUM's own Chemistry exam (pass at 30%) can stand in.
- Any IB Maths or PhysicsSL is accepted but scored with a lower multiplier than HL.

IB holders sit WUM's online competency test (80% of the ranking); IB Biology and Chemistry at HL plus Physics or Maths make up the other 20%. The IB Diploma counts as proof of English.
