What it is
The degree prepares commodity managers and experts for the mineral raw materials sector, combining technical knowledge of mining with business and management. You study classification of mineral resources, state raw materials policy, extraction and treatment technologies, mining enterprise management, commodity market forecasting, and management systems. Teaching uses modern software, augmented and virtual reality and new laboratories, with study at partner universities abroad possible. Graduates work as managers, business economists, state administration officers and investment advisors in mining and industrial firms, finance and public administration.
What you need
- Ranked on your penultimate-year school average (Czech-style marks) and an online English test, 21 of 50 to pass (B1); a B1 certificate is needed unless you studied in English.

Every IB applicant at VSB-TUO
VSB accepts a certified copy of the IB Diploma with no CZK 800 assessment fee. It asks for no IB points or subjects; each faculty ranks on its own test, or on a school average plus an English test.
How places are decided
- Points = 25 x (5 minus your average) plus the English test; best totals fill the places. 2026/27 rules; 2027/28 not yet published. Ask FMG how IB grades convert.
