Foreign qualifications are normally checked by uni-assist before a university will consider the application. uni-assist says a result usually takes 4 to 6 weeks and asks you to apply at least 8 weeks before the deadline. Starting late is a common and avoidable way to miss an institutional deadline.

What it is
Business and economics combined with sustainability and technology (biotechnology, materials, energy and process engineering) on TUM's Straubing campus, with semester 5 kept free for study abroad.
What you need
- No English certificate: your school English grades count, or you are interviewed in English. A 2-page statement of reasons.
Requirements in full
Every IB applicant at Technical University of Munich
Your six IB subjects must meet the KMK rule; uni-assist converts your IB to a German grade (VPD). Nobody is ranked: five degrees use grade-based aptitude points with an interview or test band, three are open.
How places are decided
- Aptitude check (2026/27 rules), no ranking: 88+ points (overall grade 65%; maths ×2, best science ×2, English 35%) admits you; 67–87 means a 10-minute English interview.
