What it is

The programme combines economic theory with mathematics, statistics and programming, and the first year includes a course on big societal issues such as inequality, ageing, migration and climate change. You build your own study plan with a minor, for example data science, and can spend a semester abroad at a partner university. Teaching is on campus in Otaniemi, a short ride from central Helsinki, and the degree ends with a bachelor's thesis under a faculty supervisor. It is linked to the Helsinki Graduate School of Economics, and graduates become analysts, consultants, advisers or researchers, with a place in the Aalto master's programme.
