What it is
The first years build a base in calculus, physics, mechanics, chemistry and geology, then move into surveying, CAD and BIM, hydraulics, soil mechanics and strength of materials. Core civil subjects follow: construction materials, structural analysis, steel and reinforced concrete structures and foundation engineering, with business law, economics and urban development alongside. A surveying field course gives hands-on practice, and the degree ends with a bachelor thesis. You choose between Structural Engineering (high-rise buildings, halls, frames) and Infrastructure Engineering (roads, railways, water utilities, environmental engineering). Graduates work on bridges, tunnels, power stations, industrial plants and multi-storey buildings.
What you need
- No IB points rule: the Diploma counts as your school-leaving certificate and an English-medium school certificate can replace an English test. Entry turns on BME's own online tests.
