What it is
The programme begins with mathematics (vector algebra, calculus, differential equations) and engineering basics such as physics, technical drawing and machine elements, plus professional English. Later subjects include design and manufacturing, electronics and control, fluids and heat transfer, and materials science, taught with laboratory and design work. You then specialise in Process Engineering (energy processes, fluid systems, CFD, waste management) or Design and Technology (CAD, injection moulding, composites, manufacturing systems). An individual project, an internship and a thesis conclude the degree. Graduates become design engineers, project managers and consultants in automotive, aerospace, energy and manufacturing.
What you need
- No IB points rule: the Diploma counts as your school-leaving certificate and an English-medium school certificate can replace an English test. Entry turns on BME's own online tests.
