What it is
The first year lays foundations in cultural anthropology, sociological theory and political concepts and ideologies, drawing on history, philosophy, international relations, law, public policy, gender studies and environmental studies. In year two you choose one of three multidisciplinary majors, learn research methods and complete an experiential project such as an internship, work with a faculty researcher or civic engagement. Minors in areas such as gender studies, human rights or philosophy are possible, a year at a partner university is an option, and thesis seminars lead to a final thesis. Graduates go into public policy, international organisations, NGOs, media, cultural industries and research, or on to a master's.
