What it is
Year one covers microeconomics, macroeconomics, politics, political concepts, philosophy of knowledge and ethics, along with academic writing, critical reasoning and data analysis. In year two you pick two of three pairings: Economics and Politics, Philosophy and Economics, or Politics and Philosophy, with electives from other programmes. Small seminars stress discussion; the third year offers exchange at a partner university or an experiential project such as an internship or civic work, and the later years centre on a thesis, with master's-level courses possible in year four. Graduates work in public administration, non-profits, media and advocacy, or continue to master's study in fields like international relations or finance.
What you need
- Maths in your final year is strongly recommended; IB English at 5 (HL or SL) covers the English test.
