What it is
The course gives general economics training with a social, political and international slant: economic concepts, principles and theories, rigorous methodology, and an introduction to other social sciences and business studies. It looks at how individuals, firms and nations make strategic choices and at the political and social forces behind them, using deductive reasoning and mathematical models. The broad, general design is meant to keep career choices open. Graduates work as business, financial and market analysts or in marketing and sales, in government, NGOs, media and sport, or continue to a master's in economics, business, sociology or international relations.
What you need
- The IB Diploma counts as your secondary certificate (ELTE wants it equivalent to the Hungarian matriculation). English B2, or an English-medium school certificate; economics degrees encourage IB results.
