What it is

Mathematics and theoretical computer science sit at the centre, applied through programming languages and compilers, software technology, algorithms, data science and engineering, information systems, numerical analysis and computer algebra. Areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, cryptography and cybersecurity are part of the picture. Teaching takes place in computer labs for AI, databases and robotics, with large team projects, peer mentoring from senior and PhD students, and optional undergraduate research under faculty supervision. Graduates work as programmers, software engineers and web developers in IT companies, banks, research institutes and universities.

What you need

Good secondary grades, especially in Maths; online secondary-level Maths test, then an English interview if you score 75% or more.

The IB Diploma counts as your secondary certificate (ELTE wants it equivalent to the Hungarian matriculation). English B2, or an English-medium school certificate; economics degrees encourage IB results.
