What it is
The first two years teach the basic sciences of medicine and dentistry. Year three turns to dental diseases and their treatment, with preclinical modules such as restorative dentistry and prosthetic and oral surgery propedeutics, and you practise manual skills on phantom heads in the training laboratory. In years four and five you treat patients under continuous professional supervision, working more and more independently, with elective programmes in the final year. Graduates can apply for hospital residency positions, and EU citizens receive their licence automatically within the Community.
