What it is
The programme looks at tourism and hospitality as both a business and a field of theory, with attention to current industry trends and the digital and online tools now used to sell and run tourism. Leadership, regional and local marketing, country image and brand building are named themes. Degrees of this kind typically start from economics, management, marketing and accounting and add courses on tourism products and hospitality operations. Graduates usually go into hotels, restaurants, travel companies, destination marketing and regional tourism organisations.
