University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest - rolling application windowRollingDetails
Published as a standing rule with no year: "Applications are accepted on a rolling basis from 1st January until 30th June (in cases of vacancies later)"; this site assumes the 2027 intake. Decisions are made on a rolling basis through the window, so an early application is a better one. Entrance examinations are arranged online between March and July, with "further rounds of entrance examinations organized in August depending on the number of vacancies" - a real second chance, but one that depends on other people turning places down. An applicant still in the final year of school may apply, but the school leaving certificate must be presented before enrolment.

What it is
The first two preclinical years cover anatomy, histology, embryology, biology, chemistry, physics, zoology, physiology and biochemistry. The following three clinical and paraclinical years bring animal breeding, pathology, pharmacology, toxicology, microbiology, parasitology, animal nutrition, surgery, obstetrics, food hygiene, epizootology and state veterinary medicine. The eleventh semester is practical work at the faculty clinics and associated institutions, on field stations and state farms and with practising veterinarians, and you submit a thesis and take a state examination before graduating. Graduates work in veterinary clinics, exotic and wildlife work, government veterinary posts and research.
What you need
- No IB rule or exemption: a written exam (50%) and an oral exam (50%) in biology, chemistry and English decide, and every applicant sits the oral exam.
