What it is
Over six years you work through the basic medical sciences and then clinical medicine, with ethics, patient communication and healthcare law woven in. Lectures are in English, while clinical internships run in German and Italian, reflecting the bilingual healthcare system of South Tyrol, and teaching is shared between Bolzano and Rome's Gemelli Hospital. The course combines European medical education with training aligned to US systems. Graduates are prepared to work as doctors in multilingual and cross-border healthcare settings across Europe, especially in Italian and German-speaking countries.
