What it is

The course treats the motor vehicle as an integrated system and trains junior designers to contribute to developing and producing it. After the usual engineering foundation in mathematics, physics and computing, typical courses in this field cover vehicle sub-systems, mechanical design, materials, powertrain and production processes. Learning is practical and team-based, with design projects and the university's Formula SAE student team, which has raced at European circuits such as Hockenheim and Barcelona since 2005. Graduates are prepared for roles in automotive design, engineering and production management, and many go on to a master's in a related field.

What you need
