What it is
The course trains nurses to manage preventive and care interventions for individuals, families and communities, and to look after patients from children to older adults with respiratory, cardiovascular, metabolic, renal, digestive, neurological, cancer, infectious and orthopaedic problems, as well as perioperative care, safe medication and psychological distress. Theory in basic, clinical and nursing sciences, ethics, law and communication is combined with supervised clinical training at Rome's Sant'Andrea hospital. Graduates are prepared to work as nurses in hospitals and the wider health service, working in teams with other professionals and using the methods of nursing research.
