What it is
Daily studio classes build technique across contemporary, urban and other styles, alongside theory on dance history and communication and on social topics such as inclusivity, gender, body positivity and racism. You make and perform work in collaborative projects with national and international partners and with students from other art programmes on the Zwijsenplein campus, which holds many arts courses. You follow one of three profiles: Contemporary, Contemporary Urban or Choreography. Graduates work in the performing arts and wider society, drawing on an international dance network; alumni have danced with companies such as the Martha Graham Company, taught, or combined dance with psychology and therapy.
What you need
- Audition for one profile: Studielink by 1 March, material by 4 March, live audition in Tilburg 19–22 April 2027, plus a medical test.

Every IB applicant at Fontys
The IB Diploma is named as giving access. Many programmes also want satisfactory maths grades, engineering also physics or chemistry, with no IB grade set. An IB Diploma usually exempts you from an English test.
How places are decided
- Online preselection (material by 4 Mar 2027) for one profile; if selected, a live audition in Tilburg on 19–22 Apr 2027 and a medical test. No online option.
